A creamy, smoky, slightly spicy deviled egg topped with buttery Cajun shrimp. Perfect for Christmas parties, potlucks, or when you just wanna show off.
Ingredients
For the eggs:
• 6 large eggs
• 3 tbsp mayonnaise
• 1 tbsp Dijon or yellow mustard
• 1 tbsp sweet relish (optional but so good)
• 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
• 1–2 tsp lemon juice
• Pinch of smoked paprika
• Salt & pepper to taste
For the shrimp:
• 12 small shrimp, peeled & deveined
• 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
• 1 tbsp butter
• Squeeze of lemon
Instructions
Boil the eggs
Place eggs in a pot, cover with water, bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn off heat, cover, and let sit for 12 minutes.
Transfer to ice water and peel.
Cook the Cajun shrimp
Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
Heat butter in a skillet, add shrimp, cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
Squeeze lemon and remove from heat. Let cool.
Make the filling
Slice eggs in half, scoop out yolks.
Mash yolks with mayo, mustard, relish, Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, paprika, salt & pepper.
Taste and adjust — add more Cajun for heat, more mayo for creaminess.
Assemble
Pipe or spoon yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
Top each egg with a Cajun shrimp.
Dust with smoked paprika or a tiny extra pinch of Cajun seasoning.
Chill & serve
Let them chill 30 minutes so the flavors settle.
