Ingredients:
For the chicken:
300 g chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
Salt & pepper
1 tsp sweet paprika
1 tbsp oil or butter
For the sauce:
1 tbsp butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp tomato paste
1 tsp paprika (sweet or mild)
150 ml heavy cream
50 ml water or chicken stock
Chopped parsley, for garnish
For the fries:
300–400 g French fries (frozen or homemade)
Salt
Instructions:
Prepare the fries:
Cook the fries in the oven or air fryer according to package instructions until crispy. Season with salt.
Sear the chicken:
Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear in a hot pan with oil or butter until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Make the sauce:
In the same pan, add butter and sauté onion and garlic until soft. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Simmer the cream sauce:
Add paprika, cream, and water (or broth). Bring to a simmer and let it reduce for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combine chicken and sauce:
Return chicken to the pan and stir to coat. Let simmer for another 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve:
Plate the fries and top or serve alongside the creamy paprika chicken. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Tips & Variations:
Add a pinch of cayenne for heat.
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles instead of fries.
Add mushrooms or bell peppers for extra veg.
