Prepare the Pork Hock



Delicious  Ingredients:

• 1 kg pork hock (cut into thick slices)

• 3 tbsp soy sauce

• 2 tbsp oyster sauce

• 2 tbsp sugar or honey

• 1 tbsp black soy sauce (optional, for color)

• 4 cloves garlic (minced)

• 3 pieces star anise

• 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

• 1 thumb-sized ginger (sliced)

• 2 tbsp cooking oil

• 1 cup water or broth

• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pork Hock: Clean the pork hock thoroughly. You can blanch it in boiling water for 5 minutes to remove impurities, then drain and set aside.

2. SautΓ© Aromatics: In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon stick. Stir-fry until fragrant.

3. Brown the Pork Hock: Add the pork hock pieces to the pot and brown them on all sides.

4. Add Sauces: Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, black soy sauce (if using), and sugar. Stir to coat the pork hock evenly in the sauces.
