Meatball Noodle Bake


Ingredients:

12 oz egg noodles (or pasta of your choice)

1 lb frozen or homemade meatballs (about 12-15)

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Cook the Noodles:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

3. Prepare the Meatballs:

If using frozen meatballs, heat them according to package instructions, either by baking or simmering in marinara sauce.

4. Make the Cheese Mixture:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

5. Assemble the Casserole:

In a large baking dish (about 9x13 inches), spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom.

Add half of the cooked egg noodles, followed by half of the meatballs, and half of the ricotta mixture. Spread evenly.

Add half of the marinara sauce and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese.

Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, meatballs, ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

6. Bake:

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

7. Serve:

Allow the Meatball Noodle Bake to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil, if desired.
