I'm obsessed with my Guava Chili Hot Sauce recipe, and I'm not alone! I first discovered this flavor combo on a culinary trip to the Caribbean, and I've been hooked ever since.
Ingredients:
1 cup guava jam
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
2-3 Scotch bonnet peppers, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
In a blender or food processor, combine guava jam, apple cider vinegar, water, Scotch bonnet peppers, and salt. Blend until smooth.
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add the blended guava mixture to the saucepan and stir to combine.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
