Ingredients:
12 oz fettuccine
1 lb lean ground beef
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup broth (chicken or beef as appropriate)
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Provolone cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
1. Cook fettuccine until al dente; drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and remove to a plate.
3. In the same skillet, add the onion and sautΓ© until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
4. Stir in Cajun seasoning, garlic powder and cook briefly.
5. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables, stirring to make a roux. Gradually whisk in broth and heavy cream until the sauce begins to thicken.
6. Reduce heat and add Provolone, Parmesan, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
7. Return the cooked protein to the skillet and simmer briefly.
8. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
