Ingredients:
For the Sloppy Joes:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Bread:
4 hoagie rolls or large sandwich buns
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain the excess fat.
Add the diced onion and bell pepper, and cook until softened.
Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Split the hoagie rolls in half and place them on a baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush the mixture over the hoagie rolls and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake the rolls for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the garlic bread rolls and serve.
