2 apples (one cut into small cubes, the other into thin slices)
1 tablespoon sugar
2 eggs
A pinch of salt
8g (1 tsp) vanilla sugar
120g (0.6 cup) sugar
100ml (1/2 cup) vegetable oil
130ml (1/2 cup) warm milk
280g (1.75 cups) flour
16g (2 tsp) baking powder
50g raisins
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons milk
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Steps:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Mix the eggs with a pinch of salt, vanilla sugar, and 120g of sugar until it’s fluffy.
Add the oil and warm milk, and mix well.
Sift in the flour and baking powder, and gently fold until the batter is smooth.
Stir in the apple cubes and raisins.
Pour the batter into a greased baking tin.
Arrange the apple slices on top in a nice pattern.
Brush with a mix of egg yolk and 2 tablespoons of milk.
Bake for about 40-50 minutes until golden brown.
Dust with powdered sugar if you like.
