Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tsp instant yeast
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3/4 cup warm milk
• 1 egg
• 2 tbsp butter (softened)
• Oil for frying
• Extra sugar for coating
Instructions:
1. Make the Dough:
• In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
• Add warm milk, egg, and butter. Mix and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
2. Let It Rise:
• Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
3. Shape the Donuts:
• Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces.
• Roll each into a long rope and twist into a braid or coil.
4. Second Rise:
• Place twisted shapes on a floured surface and cover loosely. Let rise for 15-20 minutes.
5. Fry:
• Heat oil to 170°C (340°F).
• Fry donuts in batches until golden brown (2–3 minutes per side).
• Drain on paper towels.
6. Coat:
• Roll warm donuts in sugar to coat generously.
