Cinnamon Star Bread

 Cinnamon Star Bread

Cinnamon Star Bread is a type of sweet bread that is typically made by rolling out a dough and spreading a cinnamon sugar mixture on top, then cutting the dough into strips and braiding them together to form a star shape. The bread is then usually glazed with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk or cream before baking. It can be served as a breakfast or dessert item and is often enjoyed during

 the holiday season.

Preparation method Cinnamon Star Bread
Here is a basic recipe for making Cinnamon Star Bread:

Ingredients:

1 cup milk
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Milk or cream, for glaze

Instructions:

In a small saucepan, warm the milk over low heat until it reaches 110-115°F. Remove from heat and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes, or until the yeast is frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, salt, eggs, and 2 cups of the flour. Add the yeast mixture and mix until well combined.
Slowly add in the remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
In a small bowl, mix together the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to form a paste.
Roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread the butter mixture evenly over the dough.
Cut the dough into 16 equal strips. Take 2 strips and twist them together, then pinch the ends together to form a star shape. Repeat with the remaining strips.
Place the bread on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Brush the top of the bread with milk or cream, then dust with powdered sugar.
Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let it cool before serving.
Note: You can also add raisins or nuts for extra flavor.
